Hunter Information

The number one cause of hunter injuries is a fall from a tree stand. For your well being, we require that you use a safety belt while hunting with us. If you do not have a safety belt, let me know. We will get you one.
If you hit a deer, please contact your guide/landowner/me to help in retrieving it. We do not want you to interrupt your partner's hunt to help you find your deer. We will be able to provide assistance as well as keep you from trespassing while searching for your deer.
Remember to tag your deer before gutting, picture taking or transporting. The tag goes on the base of the antler or (in the case of a doe) on the hind leg.
If you transport your bow without its case, please place some type of lock or binder around the strings to make it inoperable. I have some approved binders if you need to borrow them.
Be aware that our eighteen month old bucks are very large as far as body size. Their antlers will seldom extend beyond the open ears even though they may have six or eight points by this age. The antlers will also lack significant mass. Give yourself a chance at a better trophy by passing on these younger animals.
We appreciate those hunters willing to harvest does and help improve the quality of the herd. The older does with mule- like faces are especially targeted as they tend to establish and hold larger territories and drive away the younger bucks. They are excellent eating. Ask those who know.
We will transport you to your stand in most instances. This will greatly lessen the amount of scent in your hunting area. Please stay in that stand until we come for you at the end of the day It is embarrassing for you and a distraction for us to try to find a lost hunter in the dark. If you need to move from your stand during the day, contact us by radio or phone and we will come and pick you up at the stand.
Please carry your deer permit, hunting license and habitat stamp with you at all times while hunting.
For those hunters who smoke: all smoking should be done outside the buildings and away from any hunting clothing or around other hunters. No tobacco products should be used in the woods where the smell would be a deterrent to deer activity.
